Edge banders
An edge bander is used for the gluing together of edge material.
Depending on the requirements, veneer, wooden edging or PVC can be applied to the edges of the panel of material.
An edge banding machine consists of a cover, which along with the main operating component, makes up the base of the machine. The adjustable bridge holds the panels in the right position. The conveyor belt is built into the bridge and the cover and prevents the displacement of material during the bonding process. The conveyor belt itself is mainly made out of a power conveyor chain and pressing rollers, which push the edge material onto the gluing spot.
The feeder pushes the edge material up to the panel. On the gluing station, the PVA is melted and brought onto the gluing spot. The edge material is then pressed onto the panel using the pressing rollers. The endless edge is taken away from the shears and trimmed to the exact dimensions by the trimming unit. Planing of the top and bottom of the workpiece is done after the edge is trimmed and profiled. If PVC is used as an edge material, the profile scraping unit takes off a thin layer of the machined profile to remove any marks created through processing. The flat scraper is used for the removal of adhesives and excess edge material. For the final processing stages, the edge is polished and sprayed with a protective substance.
Machines for industrial production
Machines in this range can glue all edge material automatically, as well as further processing them. They are made for high production demand and can work with high speeds in several stages.
